THURSDAY 18 DECEMBER

Aisling at the Sheephaven Bay pub in Camden as guests of Pat Logue and his staff

Thanks once again to Pat for inviting us to his wonderful pub for Christmas dinner. This year 20 hungry Aisling clients came together at the Sheep amongst all of the sporting fans who gather there to watch their favourite team. It could be Arsenal, Celtic or Barcelona but Pat would usually have what you are looking for on one of his many screens. Local workers are also gathering to celebrate the season making for a lively atmosphere and Pat always makes sure there is room for Aisling to join in the festivities.

Pat Logue has been one of our longest lasting supporters since his days managing the Oxford Arms on Camden High Street. He moved to the old Mornington Arms down at the bottom of Arlington Road a good few years ago. I remember being at the opening do when it became the Sheephaven Bay and was standing outside congratulating Pat when we were approached by an irate local who complained in angry terms that the pub was reopening. ‘This place has ruined my life’ he said. Pat quietly defused the situation and promised the man that his pub would be a credit to the area and he would be proud to welcome him and his family. Your man walked on, not quite convinced but mollified. But what Pat said was true and it is a credit to Mornington Crescent/Camden Town.

Great dinner too and we all left quietly in the pouring rain.
