Aisling once more is indebted to Pat Logue, the world’s best pub governor. Lucky for us his pub, the Sheephaven Bay is on our doorstep in Camden Town (Mornington Street near Mornington Crescent underground station). This week, on St Patrick’s Day Pat held a Hozier day on the 17th of March, not only St Patrick’s Day it seems but Hozier, the Irish rock sensation’s birthday too, somehow he escaped being anointed with the saint’s name. To celebrate the man’s management looked around London for a pub in which to celebrate the doubly joyous occasion and naturally they decided to hold it at the Sheephaven.
Pat being a great friend of Aisling said that it would cost them a donation to our charity and they agreed to give £1,000 to the cause. A great night was had by all with a group of talented musicians playing Hozier’s songs as well as mixing in plenty Irish traditional favourites. In fairness the Sheephaven Bay is never short of customers particularly on our national day but the extra Hozier fans added to the swell of green clad punters and the fun and celebrations continued throughout the day. Pat’s exceptional bar staff handled the flow of customers and drinks with aplomb, the Guinness lined up on the bar going gradually from misty to sheer black and white so no one was kept waiting.
Many thanks to all who came along and made it such a fabulous and memorable day. Seen in the photo above enjoying the legendary hospitality are l to r: Pat Logue, Bis Bhadmus (from Hozier’s management team), Alex McDonnell and John Mulvihill (Aisling treasurer).
